What technology is the platform built with?
The platform is currently built with Nuxt 3 and hosted on IONOS. We are currently debating whether to develop a standalone backend that communicates with the frontend via an API or to migrate the entire platform to Ruby on Rails or Django to unify the frontend and backend within a single framework. -
How good do I need to be at programming?
You only need to know the basics of programming. One of the main goals of the platform is to use easy-to-learn frameworks to ensure that further development is straightforward. Everything we use here can be easily learned online—for instance, through YouTube tutorials. -
are there also activities outside of programming?
Of course, there are also tasks outside of development, such as marketing or external communication with organizations. For these roles, German language skills at a minimum B1 level are required, as many organizations prefer communication in German.
VolunteerHeilbronn.de
VolunteerHeilbronn is a pilot project aimed at connecting students from TUM Campus Heilbronn with local volunteer organizations. The goal of our platform is to integrate international students in Heilbronn – and that doesn’t stop with volunteering. We are constantly exploring new ways to expand our platform and offer even more opportunities for students. Currently, the platform is being developed by the TUM Campus Heilbronn Student Service. However, in the future, we aim to transition the project into a fully student-led initiative. And you have the chance to be part of it from the very beginning!
